            Registration of Births & Deaths Act 1969 has been extended and enforced in the state of Sikkim in 1979. The present efficiency in registration is around 80%, although the target is 100% registration.

 

            I gratefully acknowledge the cooperation and assistance extended by District Registrars for the successful launching of this Website on Registration of Births & Deaths.

 

            I would also like to place on record my deep appreciation on National Informatics Centre(NIC), Sikkim State unit for their excellent contribution in preparing this unique Website on Registration of Births & Deaths.

 

            I hope this Website will help the public in understanding the importance of Civil Registration and need for wider cooperation in achieving 100% Registration by 2001.
