O T I F I C A
T I O N
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 7 (e) of
the Sikkim (Repeal and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1985 (10
of 1985) and in supersession of all previous notifications and
orders on the subject, the State Government hereby imposes the
following Ground Rent with effect from 1st April,
2000, namely :-
1.
Residential premises of all buildings or houses
inclusive of all floors excluding hood (chazza) :

a) Along
the road. 0:20
paise per sft. 0:15 paise per sft. 0:10 paise per sft.
b) Backside of the 0:15 paise per sft. 0:10 paise per sft.
0:05 paise per sft.
Road.
2.
Any floor of a building or house not used for the
residential purpose of the owner but where business is carried
out for commercial purposes like shops, lodge, letting out on
rent for residential purpose, godown for storing business
materials etc. for each floor excluding the hood (chazza) :

Road.
3.
The above rates of ground rent shall be applicable to
all the buildings or houses irrespective of whether they are
constructed as per any approved Blue Print Plan or not and
shall be realised from Class-I, Class-II and Class-III bazaars
of Sikkim as specified above as per classification under
Schedule-IV of the Sikkim Trade Licence and Miscellaneous
Provisions (Amendment) Rules, 2000.
4.
For buildings or houses under construction, the ground
rent shall be realised from the first day of the month
following the one on which the occupation certificate was
issued for the said building or house.
5.
Where a building is constructed in a private land,
payment of ground rent for the ground floor shall be exempted.
