T I O N
In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (r) of
section 8 read with section 7 of the Sikkim (Repeal and
Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1985, the State Government
hereby makes the following rules to amend the Sikkim Vehicle
Parking Rules, 2000, namely :-
Short title,
1.
(1)
These rules may be called the Sikkim Vehicle extent and Parking (Amendment)
Rules, 2001.
commencement.
(2)
They shall extend to the whole of Sikkim.
(3)
They shall come into force at once.
Amendment of
2.
In the
Sikkim Vehicle
Parking Rules,
2000,
rule 2.
(hereinafter referred
to as the
said rule), in
rule 2, in
clause
(i), after the words and figure “Schedule I”, the words
and figure and Schedule I ‘A’ shall be inserted.
Amendment
of
3. In the said rules, in rule 4, in sub-rule (2)
-
rule 4.
(a)
in clause (c) after the words ‘designated area’ and
before the word ‘namely’ the words and figure specified in
Schedule I ‘A’ shall be inserted;
(b)
after clause (c), the following explanation shall be
inserted, namely: -
“Explanation:
- Vehicle parked in places other than the designated night
parking area like the National Highway, roadside etc shall pay
the night parking fee at the same rate as in the case of day
parking fee but the contractor bears no liability for any
damage to the vehicle”.
